FATHER AND TWO CHILDREN KILLED IN ROAD ACCIDENT IN SANDAKAN


SANDAKAN:

A man and his two children were killed on the spot when a four-wheel-drive vehicle they were traveling in, collided with a lorry at the 37km jalan Sandakan-Beluran yesterday.

The deceased were identified as Wan Mohd Yusli Pg Yusop, in his 30s, a nine-year-old daughter and a nine-month-old baby whose sex could not be ascertained by the police.

Wan Mohd Yusli’s wife and a couple, believed to be relatives, sustained minor injuries in the crash about 1pm. They were warded at the Beluran Hospital.

Sandakan Police Chief ACP Rosli Mohd Isa said the family was on its way to Kota Kinabalu and the lorry, to Sandakan, when the incident occurred.

He said five fireman from the Sandakan Fire and Rescue Department spent about an hour to extricate the bodies of the deceased who were pinned to their seats in the wrecked vehicle.

The bodies were sent to the Duchess Of Kent Sandakan Hospital for post-mortem.

Meanwhile in SEREMBAN, two female tourist from china were killed when a car rammed into them opposite the Jusco shopping complex in Seremban 2 on Tuesday night.

Lim Ee Mei, 39, and Du Qiao Sing, 32, who had just arrived here, were crossing the road to get into a waiting car when they were mowed down.

They succumbed to head and body injuries, about four hours after admission to the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital here.

Negeri Sembilan Traffic Police Chief ASP Abd Halil Hamzah said the mishap occurred about 10pm.

He said the Police had recorded a statement from the car driver to facilitate investigations and were waiting for the deceased’s family members and a representative from the Embassy of the Replubic of China to claim the bodies.
