MONDAY-13 OCTOBER 2008- FIVE NEW FACES IN SUPREME COUNCIL


Five new faces in Supreme Council


PENAMPANG:


Five new faces were voted into the United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organization’s (Upko) Supreme Council yesterday. They were Kuala Penyu Assemblyman John Teo, former press secretary to the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Albert Bingkasan, Lightson Kohiya, Ronald James Majaing and Suip @ Kanik Saniman. They join the other 11 elected supreme Council members namely I3iou Suyan, Datuk John Angian, Tailin Mainan, Basari Sarkun, Sakim aing @ Syalvester,Johnny Intang, Muji Ampau, Philip Lasimbang, Petrus Guriting, Wong Thien Fook and Denis Gimpah. The delegates at the 12th triennial delegates conference also chose Datuk Herman Tiongsoh as the Party’s Permanent Chairman replacing Datuk George Ginibun. Upko’s line-up for the 2008-2011 term are Tan Sri Bernard Dompok (President), Datuk Wilfred M. Bumburing (Deputy President), Senator Datuk Maijol Mahap (Vice President), Datuk Ewon Ebin (Vice President), Datuk Wences Angang (Vice President), Datuk Tan Yong Gee (Vice President) and Datuk Christine Vanhouten (Vice President). Its Wanita Movement is now headed by Datin Dr Jaina Sintian while its Youth Movement Chief is Arthur Sen. Their Deputies are PetronellaUntol and Masiung Banah respectively. Dompok in his closing speech congratulated those elected.
