Three die, one hurt when car hits wall, catches fire

SHAH ALAM:

Three fishermen were killed and another seriously injured when the car they were travelling in hit a parameter wail of a house and caught fire at Km24 Jalan Kiang-Teluk Intan near here, yesterday. Driver Mohd Yusuf Kamarudin, 37, died at the scene when he was thrown of the Proton Iswara for about 20 metres. Passengers, Mohd Khairi Zakaria, 26, and Mohd Zabri Bukhari, 35, were burnt to death while another passenger, Mohd Rani Jantan, 54, who was also thrown off the car, suffered head injuries and scaled the right side of his face, right hand and left leg. Selangor Traffic and Public Order Chief Supt Che Hussin Omar said the fishermen were on the way home to Jeram from Kiang when the accident occurred during heavy downpour at 7am. The car skidded before hitting a parameter wall of a house and a culvert and caught fire, he said when contacted yesterday. “Firemen removed the charred remains of two passengers after dousing the fire,” he said, adding that, Mohd Rani had been warded at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.
