THURSDAY-16 OCTOBER 2008- DORAEMON FILM AT UMS

Doraemon film at UMS

KOTA KINABALU:

The Consulate-General of Japan in Kota Kinabalu will co-organise the screening of “Doraemon: Nobita’s Dinosaur 2006” with the Japanese Cultural Club at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) on Oct 17 and 18. “Doraemon” was officially appointed as the “Anirne Ambassador” of Japan. In March this year, the inauguration ceremony of the Anirne Ambassador took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Masahiko Koumura, former Minister for Foreign Affairs, handed “Doraemon” a letter of assignment to inaugurate the character as Anime Ambassador. Anime is the Japanese word from “animation”. At the ceremony, Kournura told “Doraemon” that he wished people around the world to know more about the positive side of Japan through the universally popular Japanese anime, and he hoped Doraemon, as the Anime Ambassador, would travel around the world to promote Japan. The screening will be held at the Auditorium Hall 1 in the UMS Library at 7pm (on Oct 17) and 2pm Oct 18). Admission is free. For more details, visit the website http://jcc-ums.bravehost.com
